Therapy

Kiera is so strong and brave for pushing herself to do all these games and activities through all her pain! Look at her go!

Play room

This kids play room is the funnest thing ever! Kiera looks forward to coming here every day! Foosball is one of her favorite games! She also loves making snow, and silly putty!

Decorating her room

We have many fabulous cards from Kiera's class mates, and many other wonderful people. Kiera was given a chain making kit, with all different colors and designs, so her and Savannah put it together on Sunday to decorate her room.

Walking belt

Kiera's therapists have been using a 'walking belt" to help her become more independant in her walking. It still hurts a great deal, but they are trying to help Kiera work through the pain, and realize she can still do these things through the pain. The walking belt helps the therapists help Kiera get up, and also if she gets unstable, they can hold onto the belt.

Her hospital room

Here she is, in her own hospital room. This bed is the only bed she can be in right now because she's able to position it so that she is comfortable.

Outside with puppies

Our dog had puppies while Kiera was sick, and in order to help her be a part of what was going on, and to help give her a fun furry distraction, we would carry her outside when it was time to take the puppies outside, put her on a blanket and pillow, so she could be around them as they jumped through the grass. In this picture she was so ill she could not sit up! So she layed outside cuddling puppies.

On this day Kiera went through a few very painful tests up at Primary Childrens medical center. Here she is drugged, and very out of it.

Pain vs sleep

Pain vs sleep

Tonight it was the worst its ever been! Kiera couldn't lay down at all because even the bed touching her legs hurt too much. So Mark and I tried to get creative with different ways to help get her comfortable. This is one of them! We padded the wheel chair in her body pillow, put a fluffy stuffed animal on her foot rest and then reclyned her. It was better then some positions, but didn't help enough!

Mark came up with a stroke of genious! He brought up our HUGE teddy bear from down stairs, he had Kiera sitting up off the bed because her legs hurt too much to lay her down. So Teddy bear was her support. We have a towel pulling the teaddy's head back because it was too heavy and kept falling on Kiera. :) Thanks to Mark, she finally got to sleep just before 11:00

Here Kiera is joining in the fun with her cousins playing the wii band hero. She was so ill that she could not sit up, but she wanted to badly to play with her cousins that we found a way to rig it up for her to play while laying down.

Love from others

Love from others

Kiera had many well wishers during her first 3 months of pain! She recieved flowers, and packages of things for her to do while laying down, like books, coloring books, crayons, markers, paper dolls and more. So many people have done so much for her and for us! We have so many people to be grateful for! Thanks for everyones continued love and prayers on her behalf!
